Quick update, heres a letter I sent home to the fam…
“Ok so….. basically you guys are not going to guess what happened. So I was hanging out at my house with Zelaya friday night… when the assistants to the president called and told us that there was going to be an emergency change and that I had to get all my stuff packed up because the very next day at 12 I had to meet them in the terminal because I was going to be sent to Mazatenango!! Ok… now heres why.
So there was this kid who entered the mission like 4 weeks ago, hes from the capital. Well, this kid entered the mission and for whatever reason, hoped on a bus and went back home. When he got home he realized the mistake he made and decided he wanted to come back. After speaking with the president the pres said that he was going to allow him to come back in the mission, but he was not going to allow him to return to the area he ran away from. So after praying about it the pres decided to send him to Sija to be comps with Zelaya.
Zelaya right now is training him and he sent me to the area that the kid left. So now I am in Mazatenago!! Back to the coast!!!!! ahhh!! Its sooooo offensively hot!! Im already sweating like crazy again haha, but I like it. My new companions name is Elder Fuller. He is from Arizona and has 22 months in the mission, so I am going to have the priveledge as they say in the mission PARA MATARLO. Should be fun. Hes really cool.
We cover two areas, one has a branch and the other a ward. They are called Samayac and the other is called San Antonio. I can already tell I am going to have a lot of fun here, dunking people in the water! Since we cover two churches what we do on Sundays is we do splits with the young men in the ward, my comp goes to one ward and I go to the other. This last week, with the two wards combined we had 11 investigators show up!! Whats cool is the members are all really into the missionary work. So they help us out a lot and give us references and everything.
In this past week in this area there was 30 lessons taught… all of which were with members present! Crazy huh! Im way excited about this new change. Sure, I miss Zelaya, and I didnt want to leave Sija, but thats life on the mission… all we can really say is, Iré y Haré, like Nephi.”
