Yesterday after we went to church, being Sunday and all, Zelaya and I had the desire to go visit this brother named Jorge Lopez. As we went to his house we found out that he wasnt home, so we started talking to the people who were there that lived close by. They informed us that they were on there way to their church and wanted us to come with them. So, we went. They invited us into the church. Honestly, we felt a little hesitant at first to go inside but we decided in the end to go through with it.
The person leading the congregation recognized our presence and introduced us to the church as Nuestros Santos de los Ultimos Dias. They explained that they were going to let their Priest teach first and afterwards they were going to dedicate a little bit of time to let us lead them in word of God. We explained that our message is different than what they teach but we would be honored to. They said that would be great, they would love to hear what we believe in. So with that they proceeded with the program. At this point my companion and I started praying like crazy to have the words to be able to touch these peoples hearts.
First, the Priest spoke. He began by sharing the scripture in Revelations 14:6. Awesome. He explained that who that angel is in the scripture is one of the bigger mystries of the scriptures but today he was going to make a bold statement by claiming that he believes that that angel is The Holy Ghost himself. Obvously, he interpreted it differently then we believe but it gave us something to talk about. The Priest then ended his preaching by sharing Isaiah 26:14 with all of us. Trying to prove to all of us that there is NO resurrection and that Christ didnt resurrect either. As I heard that I was thinking to myself, wow, eso es totalmente falso como Satanas. Just then came to my mind 1 Corinthians 15:12-22. I showed my comp the scriptures and said, “Share this.”
They then turned the time over to us. My comp chose to be the spokesman so he went to the pulpit and started by explaining that what they hear today will be new to many of them but we just ask that you open up your hearts and hear us out till the end. He started saying we believe in a resurrection and shared the scriptures I previously stated here with all of them. Upon hearing the scriptures I looked over at the Priest and just saw a slight little smirk on his face. I wish I could know what was going through his mind at that point. My companion then began with the ministry of Christ and preached and bore testimony of the importance of prophets and apostles. Explained the Great Apostasy, the restoration of the gospel through the prophet Joseph Smith and finished with the Book of Mormon and tied in the scripture that the Priest had prevously cited in Rev. 14:6, testifying that we believe that that angel was the Angel Moroni.
As he bore testimony of the gospel and the Church of Jesus Christ I felt the spirit so strongly as if I could strech my hand out and grasp my fingers around it. He cried, I cried, it was awesome. When we finished, as expected they had a few questions they wanted answers to. Thats when I stood up along side my companion in front of all of them to share in the fun. As I always love to say, honest questions deserve honest answers. We shared scriptures, stories, and personal testimonies in front of this wonderful congregation of Evangelists.
We finished by telling them all that if they do one thing upon leaving this meeting, please dont leave believing just our words. But TRUST GOD. We invited all of them to pray and ask God, have faith in HIM and trust Him and they can find out if what we have shared is true. All in all I can easily say it was one of the cooler experiences I have ever been able to be a part of. My companion and I later joked, how ironic that we had one of the more spiritually uplifting experiences of our lives in a little Evangelist House of Prayer located in the mountain tops of beautiful Guatemala.
I am so grateful to be a member of the one and only true church sobre la faz de la tierra, and for LIVING prophets and apostles that lead and guide us through this life. Being a missionary sure is great, Id recommend it to anyone.

William, I was so impressed with your fearlessness and command of the scriptures on this occasion with the Evangelical church people. You are truly relying on the Holy Ghost. I pray you both will continue to be blessed. Love, Grandma
