Una Blanka Navidad

Merry Christmas everyone! Life here is going good. We had a baptism just the other day, christmas morning. It was soo cool. I performed the baptism. Its this man that we´ve been teaching the whole time I´ve been here named Lorenzo. Ill post a picture of the baptism in the photo gallery. So even though its like a thousand degrees over here you could say we had a white christmas because we were all dressed in white for the baptism.

Christmas eve was just like any other day, my campanion and I were exhuasted because we walked a lot and nobody wanted to hear anything because they were busy doing things and the appointments we did have all but one fell through. When we got home we ended up going to bed at around 9 but at midnight….. wow, it was like the whole city was being destroyed. They have a tradition that at midnight they light off tons of fireworks for christmas. Well, I knew they were going to do it but I never thought itd be as loud as it really was. I really thought it was WW3. I took a couple of videos using my camera and when the noise died down I went back to bed, but wow, it was quiet the experience.

Hmmm well, there isn´t much more to say. My companion goes home Jan 9th so this past two weeks hes just really been drilling me. Hes been having me make pretty much all the decisions and do everything for the both of us, when I mess up he helps me but the point is he already knows how to do the work but hes forcing me to learn how to do it. Its working. I am really getting a hang of things. We´ve gone on divisions a couple of times where my companion leaves for another area and I get paired up with a different missionary for a day or two. The point is to leave me in charge of our area making all the decisions and running things. He keeps on reminding me that next month since he won´t be around to help I really need to learn how to do it right, and its true. I´m learning and its fun and the work is great.

In all honesty its the hardest thing I´ve ever done in my entire life. Its tiring spiritually and physically but the point is its worth it. Every night when we go to bed we make the joke that its like the death and when we wake up its like the resurrection of the just. Every night we die and in the morning we are reborn ready to do it all over again. One thing thats really fun about the missionary work is its like playing a game that you know you are going to win. Its like you know that if they just do their part, pray, read, etc. They are going to recieve an answer and you are going to triumph. Its the getting them to do their part thats hard.

I hope you all had a great Christmas. I love you all and wish you the best…
