What’s up dooooods! Greetings from Illinois!! Our trip was really long but Magnus and I made it! I love it here so much, I only wish I could have brought all my friends and family with me. Work has been surprisingly a lot of fun. I’m really getting the hang of it. Recently we have been working in a lot of trailer parks. The salesmen are obsessed with them, I think its mostly because well, I don’t mean to generalize but the people in those areas seem more susceptible to buy into things easier so they are just having a heyday. The problem with installing a security system in a trailer though is that they have no basement! So when I go to run my power and phone lines I have to run them through their crawlspaces. If you’ve even been in a crawlspace before you don’t need me to tell you how much fun it is. I don’t even know why they call them crawlspaces because from my experience so far there is no crawling involved. Its not even possible. To get through them I find myself clutching my little flashlight in one of my little paws and my drill in the other doing this army commando crawl on my chest with little to no room to even breath… Oh and to top it off I am surrounded by dead and living spiders. The worst ones are the ones that are all preg so they have these giant egg sacks. Just one look at them and you feel like you want to die. The worst is when they hop on you its not like you can run away. So you find yourself doing this little wiggle with what little room you have to work with to try and shake these things off your body! Hahaha, boy am I going to love it when the salesmen move onto a new area.Being our first real Sunday here we decided to check out the singles scene in our new area. We drove 40 minutes just to get to the building. I’ve never had to drive so far just to go to church in my life. I am spoiled. When we got there it was fast and testimony meeting. If you’ve ever been out of Utah you know how awesome that is (Long akward pauses between people going up). Fun stuff. Oh, and there was only about 20 people in the ward, very small. Theres a couple stakes in the area though and we heard the other ward is pretty “hoppin” with the ladies so we’re going to check that one out next week.
There was only like 2 good looking girls in this ward but now that I’m home and I think about it more I only think they were good looking if you compare them to everyone else. I’m horrible, Ha. No, but seriously, its like when you go to scout camp and you have that one really hot chick counselor thats the only girl from miles around so everyone falls madly in love with her. So you end up getting home and you tell all your buddies, “holy crap this one counselor from camp was soooo hot you totally need to see it to believe it” but then when you finally get your pictures developed from camp you’re like, “Hmmm… thats funny, I don’t remember her looking half-dog”. Ha, oh, and at church today I found out theres going to be this huge YM/YW conference for everyone in the area, supposedly they even went as far as recruiting people from out of state to come down because our area just lacks the numbers. They expect to have 300-400 people at it for a dance and other activities. Hopefully I’ll be able to meet some really cool people there, and by cool people I mean good looking girls.
Uhmmm there is so much I could talk about but I’m really tired so I’ll just post more later. I uploaded a few pictures from our journey from Utah to here so if you’d like you can check those out by going to the photo album section or just by clicking here. Check back later to follow Magnus and my adventures in Chicago, Illinois!!
